Youngstown State University (YSU) has announced that Thomas Caputo has been recognized on the 2024 President's List for academic excellence. The announcement was made in a press release on February 24, 2025, through the YSU Merit Page.

He has earned academic recognition, including being named to the President's List for Fall 2024 and the Dean's List for both Fall 2024 and Fall 2023. Caputo previously attended Fredericktown High School.
The university awards President’s List recognition to full-time undergraduate students who achieve a 4.0 grade point average while completing at least 12 semester hours of credit in a given term. This distinction is granted only at the conclusion of the fall and spring semesters. According to YSU, part-time students may also qualify if they maintain a 4.0 GPA and accumulate a minimum of 12 semester hours across both terms.
Courses with grades of I, AU, CR, CRX, and PR do not count toward the required credit hours but do not disqualify students provided they meet the total earned credit requirement. Recipients receive an official certificate from the Office of the President and are formally announced on the YSU Merit Page website.
