Danville vs Bridgeport: Round One Playoff Preview

The Danville Blue Devils will take on the Bridgeport Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, in the first round of the OHSAA playoffs.

Last Friday, Danville defeated rival East Knox in the famous Devil-Dog game, with a 36-6 victory.

Danville was unstoppable on the ground in the win, and finished the game with 319 rushing yards.

Danville’s defense picked off two passes in the game. The picks came courtesy of Carson Proper and Landon King. Danville’s defense also received help from Caleb Lucas, who picked up a sack and made six total tackles, three of them for loss of yardage.

Meanwhile, Bridgeport has suffered three straight losses. Included in that span, is their loss last week, in which Cameron High defeated the Bulldogs 62-7.

Bridgeport’s quarterback, Avery Jackson, was a machine though in the loss, rushing for 85 yards on only eight carries, and also throwing for 95 yards and a touchdown.

Danville has been on a winning mission as of late: they've won six of their last seven match-ups, which helps give them their impressive 8-2 record. As for Bridgeport, they sit with a losing record of 3-7.

Kickoff will take place this Friday at 7:00 p.m. in Danville.
