Sharon J. Gerber, 61, of Sugarcreek, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2023 at Union Hospital following a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was born in Knox County on June 19, 1962 to the late Cloyce and Garnet (Sapp) Hess and on August 19, 1983 she married Steven Gerber. He survives.
She worked at Skyline Champion Homes for 28 years and was a member of the Walnut Creek Mennonite Church.
She loved crafting, being outside working in her flower beds and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Sean (Veronica) Gerber of Strasburg and Tristan (Jana) Gerber of Sugarcreek; 8 grandchildren, Ryker, Jekobe, Steven, Liberty, Jax, Autumn, Adalyn "Gracie", and Sharon Hopelyn; and her siblings, Kay (Mike) Sigman, Keith (Carol) Hess, and Jim (Denise) Hess all of Mount Vernon.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers Leroy Edward and Bill Hess.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 10 AM at Walnut Creek Mennonite Church with Pastor Charlie Grimes officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at the Church from 5-7 PM in the Sanctuary.
