Details: The market, which started in August, will run from 4 to 7 p.m. every Thursday through Oct. 12. Transforming our community’s needs through the sale of locally grown food and agricultural products.

Details: Free. Ohio School of Falconry will bring up to 5 raptors (hawks, owls, buzzards and falcons) to the Library, while sharing how we can be friends and advocates to these amazing birds. Some selected volunteers will have hands-on experience with our visitors! Open to all ages.

Akron First Church Retreat

Details: One of the highlights of every year for our church family is our annual church retreat at Camp Mohaven in Danville, Ohio. This year will be no different as we get together to worship and fellowship during the weekend of October 6-8, 2023. Our guest speaker for the weekend will be Mike Stevenson, Lead Pastor at Desert Valley Adventist Church and the former Youth Director of the Ohio Conference of Seventh-day Adventists.
We look forward to a relaxing and fun-filled weekend for those who are able to attend. As is the usual case, your visit to Camp Mohaven may include the full weekend or just a Saturday visit. Please plan on joining us. Message us with any questions.

Streetwise Defensive Overdrive

Where: E.A.S.T. Group Training, 2535 Township Road 192, Fredericktown
Details: This high-intensity two-day course takes our Street Wise class to the next level. We’ll dump the clutch, drop the hammer, and drive right into developing the aggressive gun-handling skills needed to prevail in a gunfight on the street.
This class will be spent working entirely from concealment using proven concepts to decrease your reaction time and increase your speed. These two elements will enable you to quickly and accurately engage threats from contact distance to ten yards. The goal by the end of the second day is to have you performing at the level of (unconscious competence) and understanding why that is so important.
“Bullets are Inbound” is the premise by which we teach and you will be reminded of that throughout your training and to act accordingly. This is excellent training for law enforcement working plainclothes or when off duty as well as the properly licensed concealed carry holder.
Prerequisites
(EGO Check) This course is not for beginners, it is a physically and mentally demanding course and students need to come prepared to handle both. You must also be able to display strong gun handling skills during the initial assessment drill to continue with the training. If you have questions at all please contact us.
