Friday, Sept. 1, 11 a.m.: Recipe Exchange – The theme this month is camping. Prepare a dish you enjoy while camping. This could be a main dish, side dish or dessert. Remember to bring the recipe too. We invite and encourage guests to join us and be taste testers (no experience required). No need to bring a dish; just come join us for good food and conversation. We always have plenty of food to share and you might find a new recipe you like. Table service and drinks provided.
Tuesday, Sept. 12, 5:30 p.m.: Teen Crafting – Join us and make your own DIY craft. This month’s craft is a Super Mario Mushroom Terracotta Pot. Registration is required. Please call or stop by the library to reserve your spot.
Wednesday, Sept. 13, 20 and 27, 10 a.m.: Story Time with Miss Kathy – Join Miss Kathy for stories and activities for children birth to preschool age.
Thursday, Sept. 14 at 10 a.m.: Homeschool Program – Nature Space: This program is designed for homeschool students of all ages. Nature Space will explore a different nature-related topic each month with stories, games, experiments, crafts and STEM projects. This month the topic is Sunflowers. If you have questions, please call Kathy at the library for more information.
Thursday, Sept. 14 and 28, 5 p.m.: Ukulele Association of Homer – This is a time for fellow ukulele players to meet for ukulele practice and to share their enthusiasm for this unique instrument in an informal setting. There will be an experienced ukulele player in attendance to offer lessons. The library has ukuleles for lending and all ages are welcome to attend.
Friday, Sept. 15, 10 a.m.: Brunch and a Movie – Join us and watch Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris, an amusing, uplifting, and engaging movie (2022). This movie is rated PG. Please call the library to reserve your seat by September 14th.
Tuesday, Sept. 19, 5:30 p.m.: Teen Painting – Join the fun and create a Super Mario-themed painting. Please call the library to reserve your spot. All materials are provided.
Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2 p.m.: Crafting: Join us and make a scented hand soap, gel air freshener and body butter. Registration is limited to seven guests. Please call to reserve your spot. All supplies are provided, but you may bring your own essential oils if you like.
Thursday, Sept. 21, 5 p.m.: Teen Movie and Pizza: Watch a movie and enjoy pizza too. Check out the new release of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. The movie is rated PG for action and mild violence. Pizza and soft drinks will be provided. Please RSVP by Wednesday, September 20th at 5 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 22, 2 p.m.: Homer Historical Society: Come and join us for an informal discussion of local history.
