MOUNT VERNON – Dale F. Shoemaker, 88, of Mount Vernon, passed away on July 16, 2023, at Brookdale in Mount Vernon. He was born on Jan. 30, 1935, to Curtis and Marge (Spellman) Shoemaker in Mount Vernon.
Dale was an Amity High School Graduate. Dale was a U.S. Army Veteran. He loved shooting pool and playing golf.
Dale is survived by his children, Lisa Parrish of Warsaw and John Shoemaker of Danville; grandchildren John (Shirley) Shoemaker Jr. of Mount Vernon and Dayna (Dana) Phillips of Mount Vernon; a brother, Don (Mary) Shoemaker of California and many extended family members.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife, Judith (Stanley) Shoemaker, and his parents.
Graveside services will be Friday, July 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Pastor Ben McKinstry will be officiating, and full military honors will be presented by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
