MOUNT VERNON – A funeral service for Bonita Joyce Schwenke, 67, of Mount Vernon, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 10, at Brucker-Baker Funeral Home, with Pastor Ben Driver officiating. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 9, at the funeral home, 34 N. Main St. in Utica.
Bonita passed away July 4, 2023, at The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. She was born Sept. 28, 1955, in Mount Vernon, to the late Walter Herman and Bonnie Jean (McCollum) Mechling.
Bonita enjoyed spending time with her family, and she was a member of Utica EMS.
She is survived by her sons, Clark (Christina) Schwenke of Glenmont and Clint (Cassie) Schwenke of Utica; brother, Mark (Sherry) Mechling; grandchildren, Clarissa “Rosie” Schwenke of Danville, Colton Schwenke of Glenmont, Cloey Schwenke of Utica, Cadence Schwenke of Utica and Clint Schwenke Jr. “JR” of Utica; nieces, Cassandra, Angie and Lisa; nephew, Dusty and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cindy Mechling.
