MOUNT VERNON – Mary Richards Daley passed away at Riverside Rehabilitation and Healing Center in New York, New York on April 18, 2023, after a long illness. She was loved, admired and respected by family, friends and classmates as vivacious, entertaining and compassionate, and with a great sense of humor.
She was born Mary Ann Richards to Henry and Faye (Marlowe) Richards on May 24, 1941, in Mount Vernon, Ohio and attended St. Vincent de Paul School grades 1-12. Following high school graduation in 1959, she took up residence in New York City to pursue her passions, especially in ballet, theater and music. She married and raised her son, Tim.
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by two brothers, John and Ronald, and her beloved son, Timothy Daley (July 2021). Surviving are her sister, Betty Richards, Carlsbad, New Mexico; daughter-in-law, Barbara Daley; granddaughter, Teagan Daley, Henderson, Nevada and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
After many years of illness, Mary is at peace. There is no date for a celebration of Mary's life at this time.
