MARTINSBURG – Edward A. Miller, born on Feb. 18, 1934, passed peacefully at his residence to his heavenly reward on April 25, 2023.
He was married to Clara J. Miller on April 16, 1957. She survives, in addition to their seven children: Viola Miller Clark of Utica; Ruth Miller of Mount Vernon; Sara Kaye (LaVerne Eash) of Gambier; Norman (Sara Miller) of Mount Vernon; Rosanna (Paul Mark Miller) of Utica; Regina (Dave Miller) of Gambier and Nathan (Rachel Wert) Miller of Mount Vernon. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Mintie (Bender) Miller, a brother, Jim and Martha (Gingerich) Miller and brother-in-law, John A. Miller.
After working at Geauga Industries for 13 years, Edward, Clara and family moved to Martinsburg in 1972 and became farmers for 51 years. He never shied away from hard work. Edward enjoyed traveling and did so with excursions to Israel, Russia, Ukraine and India. He loved to winter in Sarasota, Florida and meet people, nobody was a stranger. He enjoyed riding his bicycle in Pinecraft. He was a member of the Walhonding New Order Christian Fellowship Church. He memorized a lot of scripture in German and English, one of his favorite being: Galatians 2:20, "I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live, yet not I, but Christ liveth within me, and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith of the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me."
Calling hours will be held 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, and funeral service at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 30, at Melita Fellowship Church, 9956 Camp Ohio Rd., Utica, Ohio 43080.
