MOUNT VERNON – Oscar Antonio “Tony” Campos Sr., 67, of Mount Vernon passed away on Thursday evening, Feb. 16, 2023, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He was born on Sept. 5, 1955, in Mount Vernon to the late Salvadore and Emma (Frazee) Campos.
Tony was a carpenter for the Campos Construction Co. He was a member of the Church on the Rise near Mount Vernon. Tony enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and working.
Tony is survived by his wife, Donna (Green) Campos; sons, Oscar A. “Tony” Campos Jr., Josh (Kayla) Campos and Derrick Campos; a daughter, Cheyenne Campos; grandchildren, Kaylyn, Lauren, Joslyn and Lincoln; brother, John (Diane) Campos; sisters, Jean (Richard) Hite, Carol Lester, Freda Gardner, Kathy (Tom) Stimens, JoAnn Knox and Judy (Macio) Mesa; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Oscar was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Carpenter, and a brother, Joe Campos.
The family will have a memorial service celebrating the life of Tony at 10 a.m. on Sunday, March 5, at the Church on the Rise, 7512 Newark Road, Mount Vernon, with Pastor Richard Hite officiating.
