Loudonville museum to host archaeology roundtable

LOUDONVILLE – The Cleo Redd Fisher Museum in Loudonville has announced new dates for their popular Ohio Archaeology series. 

The series, led by Jeff Zemrock of the Ohio Archaeological Society, has been a mainstay of the museum for several years. Previously formatted as lectures and large-group discussions, the series now turns to a new format of a roundtable, welcoming all to equally lead and partake in discussions of any topic pertaining to Ohio archaeology.

The roundtable has been slated for two upcoming dates, Jan. 31 and Feb. 7, both Tuesdays at 7 p.m. Zemrock will still provide his expertise at the roundtable, but instead of planned topics the group can move the conversation into any relevant field they are interested in, as long as it pertains to stone tools or other archaeological evidence and sites in Ohio. 

The museum expects that one popular aspect of the roundtable will be the ability for guests to bring their own findings to share with the rest of the group or to ask for help in identifying. In order to better facilitate group discussions, the roundtable will be limited to 30 participants. Registration is free but required for all interested in participating — registration includes participation in both nights.
