MOUNT VERNON – William Bott Smyser, 83, of Mount Vernon passed away on Monday, Jan. 23, 2023, at The Ohio Eastern Star Home.
He was born on Dec. 5, 1939, in York, Pennsylvania, to the late William J. and Margaret (Bott) Smyser.
William was a an Army veteran and a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Frances (Rizzuto) Smyser; a son, Stephen (Madonna) Smyser; a daughter, Lesley (Glenn) Fischer; four grandchildren, Drew (Ida) Fischer, Cadi (Austin Long) Fischer, Ben Fischer and Bailey Smyser.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Susan Lamb.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 28, starting at 1 p.m. at Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel. Friends may call on Saturday from noon until the time of services.
