Master Will Smith presided over the monthly meeting of Morgan Grange #829 on Friday, Aug. 12. Fourteen members were present as minutes were read and approved with one correction.
It was reported that Morgan's booth came in second at the Knox County Fair and thanks were given to Charlie and Barb Bower, JoAnn Walton and Ned and Cindy Campbell for designing and erecting the fair booths. Morgan recently served dinner to 50 Utica senior citizens at their meeting and will be serving dinner to the Shriners on Tuesday, Sept. 27. It was decided to hold a chicken noodle drive thru dinner on Saturday, Oct. 22, at the grange hall. Morgan will have a special program at the Oct. 14 meeting when it will honor special long-time members. Election of officers will be held at the September meeting and officers will be installed at the November meeting. Two resolutions to be considered at the Ohio State Grange Convention were presented and accepted by the members. Dee Smith presented a pop sales report and thanked all who helped.
An invitation was received to attend the wedding of Jamee Jordan and Anthony Borders. Concerns were expressed for Terry Barber, Bruce Roy and Rita Smith. Ned Campbell and Oneta Debolt had birthdays this month and anniversaries were celebrated by Robert and Kristi McVay, John and Sue Bateman and Randy and Rita Smith.
