MOUNT VERNON – The Mount Vernon Community Band will play music from around the world Sunday in Heritage Center Park, overlooking the Kokosing River.

Concertgoers will be seated in a grassy area overlooking the river and the old railroad bridge. The park is at 404 S. Gay St., just east of viaduct. The hour-long concert begins at 6 p.m.

The program includes dances from German and Czech composers and the “Korean Folk Rhapsody.” The band will also play “Shenandoah Mountain," the children’s piece “Peter and the Wolf," narrated by Rebecca Clemente, and “Instant Concert," a medley of familiar classical themes.

Under the direction of Adam Garlinger, the band is composed of about 30 woodwind, brass and percussion players residing in Mount Vernon and surrounding communities.

There is parking adjacent to the site.
