The Heart of Ohio USA Days Committee announced this year’s contenders for the titles.
Little Uncle Sammy entrants are Coy VanDyke and Silas Hackett, both of Centerburg.
Silas is the 4-year-old son of Megan and Jake Hackett. He loves to go to work with his dad and ride all the tractors. Coy is the 4-year-old son of Alyssa VanDyke and Jake Brungarth. Coy also loves the outdoors, especially his pawpaw’s tractors, boat and quad.
This year’s girls competing for the title of Little Miss Liberty are Stella Griffin of Sunbury, Allie Cochran and Armani McLaughlin, both of Centerburg, and Kayli Williams of Mount Vernon.
Stella is the 4-year-old daughter of Brian and Stephanie Griffin. Stella is the kind of girl who wears a princess dress to go fishing. Allie is the child of Nikki and Scott Cochran. Allie enjoys her Barbie dolls and coloring. Armani is the 4-year-old daughter of Carley Kuhn and Cory Weiss. Armani is in both tumbling and dance classes. Kayli is the daughter of Kami and Justin Williams of Mount Vernon and she is 4 years old. She likes all animals and has a quite large menagerie.
The entrants are collecting votes (1 cent per vote), and the winners will be announced Thursday, June 16, on stage at 7 p.m. They will be crowned by last year’s winners, Shelly Clarke and Parker Penman.
Also, this year being the 20th anniversary, all of the former winners have been invited, and there is a high count of confirmed attendees.
