The Homer Public Library has a full calendar of events scheduled for May. | Homer Public Library

Tuesday, May 3 at 11 a.m. Medicare Discussion: Join Jason Barber of TLC Insurance Group to gain a greater understanding and get answers to common questions about Medicare.

Thursday, May 5 at 3:30-6 p.m. Crafting with Miss Lisa: Guests will use the Cricut to create a gift box for the special mom or woman in your life. Please call the library or stop by to register for the class. All ages are welcome.

Friday, May 6 at 11 a.m. Recipe Exchange: The theme for this month will be salad or sandwich. Prepare your favorite salad or sandwich to share with the group. Don't forget to bring the recipe, too. We invite and encourage guests to join us and be taste-testers (no experience required). No need to bring a dish; just come join us for good food and conversation. We always have plenty of food to share and you might find a new recipe you like. Table service and drinks provided.

Thursday, May 12 and 26 at 5 p.m. Ukulele Association of Homer: This is a time for fellow ukulele players to meet for ukulele practice and to share their enthusiasm for this unique instrument in an informal setting. There will be an experienced ukulele player in attendance to offer lessons. The library has ukuleles for lending, and all ages are welcome to attend.

Monday, May 16 at 4:30-6:30 p.m. Essential Oil Mingle: Join Rochelle Walters with Young Living Oils for a social gathering and learn about the ancient secrets of essential oils. Snacks and drinks will be provided but feel free to bring a snack to share. Please call the library to register.

Tuesday, May 17 at 5:30 p.m. Teen Crafting: Join us and create your own DIY magazine bead bracelet. Seating is limited to six, so please call the library to reserve your spot. All materials are provided.

Thursday, May 19 at 3:30-6 p.m. Crafting with Miss Lisa: Learn more about the Cricut craft machine and create a tag to go along with the bath salt container. Jars, bath salts and Cricut supplies are included. Please call the library to register. All ages are welcome.

Friday, May 20 at 6-7 p.m. Stuffed Animal Sleepover: Drop off your child's favorite stuffed friend for a night of fun at the library. They will be photographed while participating in fun activities. Photos will be sent to you during the evening, so you can see what they are up to. Please stop by the library on Saturday between 9-11 a.m. to pick up your stuffed animal. Please call the library to register for this event.

Tuesday, May 24 at 5:30 p.m. Teen Paint Night: Join us and create a lovely butterfly-themed painting. Seating is limited to six, so please call the library to reserve your spot. All materials are provided.

Friday, May 27 at 11 a.m. Adult Book Club: The book selection this month is "We Were Brothers" by Barry Moser. Reserve your copy by calling or stopping by the library. Join us for an informal, interesting and lively discussion.

Tuesday, May 31 at 5:30 p.m. Teen Book Club: All teens are invited. The selection this month is "Grenade" by Alan Gratz. Join us for a discussion where we'll talk about what we liked, didn't like and everything in between. Call or stop by the library to register and pick up your copy of the book.
