JACKSON, Mich. – Jake Glover hit the cover off the ball last week for the Mount Vernon Nazarene University baseball team, and as a result the senior has been named as the Crossroads League Baseball Player of the Week by the Crossroads League on Monday, April 11.
The first-baseman from Miamisburg batted .348 on the week. Glover had eight hits, 14 RBIs and three home runs. One of Glover’s biggest hits came at a clutch time. In the bottom of the 12th inning against Saint Francis on April 7, Glover hit a single to right-field, giving MVNU a 7-6 walk-off victory.
On the season, the 6-foot-1, 240-pound senior leads the team with 44 RBIs and eight homers. Glover also leads the team in doubles with 10.
