Lady Freddies' avalanche of runs topples Mount Gilead 25-0

On April 8, Fredericktown scored in bunches … big bunches, to demolish Mount Gilead, 25-0. A four-run first was all the Freddies needed for the win, as pitcher Alyssa Zolman pitched a three-hit shutout, walking one and striking out seven. But the Freddies poured it on with eight runs in the second, nine in the third and four in the fourth to complete the wipeout. Of the Freddies’ 22 hits from 10 players, Taylor Brown, Jess Montalvo, Gabby Daniels and Makaya Frazier each connected for three hits and Lainy Partington, Emma Hatfield, Trinity Garretson and Zolman each got two. Montalvo and Brown each scored four runs and Montalvo and Hatfield each drove in four. The Freddies banged out nine doubles and five triples in the game and they played errorless ball in the field. The Freddies improved to 5-0 (2-0 KMAC) and the Redskins dropped to 0-2 (0-1).
