ASHLAND – The Firelands Electric Cooperative People’s Fund has approved a grant of $1,199.00 to Hospice of North Central Ohio to fund the purchase of two CoaguChek Systems.
These test kits will be used by HNCO nurses to monitor patients who are at risk of bleeding.
Ralph Tomassi, HNCO chief development officer/senior administrator, said: “We are indeed grateful to our friends at Firelands, who continue to help equip our caregivers with the tools they need to provide the best care to our patients.”
The mission of Firelands Electric Cooperative People’s Fund is the accumulation and disbursement of funds for charitable purposes in the Firelands Rural Electric service area. The program receives its funding from members who allow their bills to be rounded up each month to the next whole dollar amount. These funds are placed in a charitable trust fund. All available funds are then distributed to qualifying charities.
