HOWARD – Pamela A. Carruthers, 62, of Howard passed away Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021, at the Knox Community Hospital with her loving family at her side.
She was born on May 5, 1959, in Mount Vernon to the late Robert and Beverly (Vian) Lewis. Pamela enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers. She also enjoyed her canine companions and her birds. But most of all, she loved the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, whom she has been with for over 36 years and married to for over 24 years, Ron Carruthers; her son, Mitchell (Jessica Layton) Carruthers; her step-son, Justin Carruthers; eight grandchildren, Karrissa, Payton, Quentin, and Kaliann Carruthers, Arionna, Trentin and Madison Fabrizio and Curtis Hull; her brother, Frank Lewis; her sisters, Peggy (Ed) Smith and Julie (Robert) Cockrell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pamela was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may call on Monday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home – Lasater Chapel, 11337 Upper Gilchrist Road, Mount Vernon. A service will follow beginning at 1 p.m. with Pastor Marvin Haught officiating. Burial will take place in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
