ASHLAND – For the past ten years, the Ashland Fraternal Order of Eagles #2178 and the Ashland Eagle Riders have had annual events to raise funds in support of Hospice of North Central Ohio. These fund-raising events included car shows, auctions, poker runs, specialty dinners and other activities designed to generate charitable dollars to support HNCO’s special mission.
HNCO accepted two gifts totaling $7,000 from The F.O.E Mohican-Ashland Eagle Riders #2178 and Ohio State Eagle Charity Fund. The gifts will be used to support the multitude of HNCO bereavement programs and services in Ashland County, including Camp Hope Children’s Bereavement Camp.
“HNCO has long enjoyed a cordial relationship and benefitted from the generous support of this wonderful club," Ralph Tomassi, HNCO chief development officer/senior administrator, said. "Annual support from the Eagles Club has helped our nonprofit hospice organization provide programs and services free of charge throughout the Ashland community. We are grateful for their giving hearts.”
“Our motto is people helping people," Steve Bates said. "We spend the entire year raising funds through events like the chicken dinner, four super bowl boards, poker run, blanket auctions (Buckeye, Browns, party on the patio), Blackstone grill, tailgate bench, as well as selling hamburgers and hot dogs at the downtown car show.”
As the area’s oldest and largest nonprofit hospice organization, Hospice of North Central Ohio has served thousands of families with compassionate end-of-life and palliative care, bereavement programs and services since 1988.
