Gerrymandering
As a resident of Knox County, I am tired of living in gerrymandered state and Congressional districts and being deprived of a true voice in my government.
Gerrymandered Ohio Legislative and Congressional maps have resulted in districts that lack common values and interests and divide communities. They have also caused our legislators to be safe from challenge and less responsive to their constituents.
Voters backed reforms in 2015 and 2018. As legislators draw new districts incorporating 2020 Census data, they must heed voters and create districts that are compact, culturally cohesive and as competitive as possible.
I have collected signatures for a petition supporting a constitutional amendment requiring fair districts and I testified in August at a hearing on Ohio Legislative maps. I will continue to work to see that legislators follow the directive of Ohio voters.
This opportunity to see democracy restored to our state and nation won’t slip away!
