MOUNT VERNON – Linda Ann Walters, 80, of Mount Vernon, passed away on April 26, 2021, in Danville surrounded by her family. She was born on April 26, 1941, to Ralph and June (Kulman) Bateman of Vincent, Indiana.
Linda retired from the Mount Vernon Developmental Center after working there as a nurse’s aide. She liked riding motorcycles, quilting and sewing. Linda was a sassy person who always spoke her mind. She loved her family very much, which included her favorite cat, Sunshine. She was a member of quilting clubs in Mount Vernon and her motorcycle club, Gold Wings.
She is survived by a sister, Sharon (Carl) Fry of California; a brother, David (Cheryl) Bateman of Cadiz; nieces, Cheryl Walters, Tiffany Walters, Destiney Walters, Jaustyn Walters and Paige Walters, all of Danville; and a nephew, Michael Walters of Texas.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, William Carol Walters; a nephew, William Bryan Walters; and a great-niece, Ema Mae Grace Walters.
Calling hours will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 1, with a funeral service beginning at noon at the Lasater Funeral Home.
