MOUNT VERNON – The Knox County Convention & Visitors Bureau is promoting the launch of the Knox County Park District’s 2021 GeoTrail.

The Park District’s new partners for this year’s GeoTrail are Almost Famous Sweets and Soda, The Mount Vernon Inn, The Makery and Main Street Makers Market.

“With the new trail we are designing, we hope to see a continued increase of visitors and geocaching in Knox County,” said Katie Hux, Knox County Parks District administrator. “This year’s trail will be very unique to Ohio as it will provide an optional ‘paddle cache’ for those interested in kayaking the Kokosing River.”

The Park District will be partnering with Valley Kayak Rentals, located in central Ohio, to provide kayak rentals and other opportunities for Geotravelers.

“We are so excited to find a partner that is committed to our trail experience and water safety,” Hux said.

The Knox County Park District 2021 GeoTrail launch date is tentatively set for June 4, 2021. To find out more details regarding geocaching and the Knox County Park District, visit knoxcountyparks.org or like/follow them on Facebook and Instagram @explore_knoxcountyparksdistrict.
