MOUNT VERNON – Thomas E. Frye, 76, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born in Mount Vernon to the late Donald and Edith (Stoneburner) Frye.
Thomas was proud of serving in the United States Army. He also earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He worked for Cooper-Bessemer in their accounting division. Thomas enjoyed golfing in the Florida sunshine as well as playing the organ and piano.
He is survived by his son, Seth (Zen) Frye; grandchildren, T.J. (Hailey) Frye, Justin Frye and Nicholas Frye; six great-grandchildren, Rhianna, Landen, Ashton, Khamryn, Brooklyn and Kali; and a brother, Charlie (Blanca) Frye.
Along with his parents, Thomas was preceded in death by his fiancé, Barbara Skeen.
In keeping with Thomas’ wishes, there will be no calling hours. The family will observe a private gathering at a later date.
