MOUNT VERNON – Ronald C. Goines, 84, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, at The Ohio State University James Cancer Clinic. He was born on Sept. 11, 1936, in Mount Vernon, the son of Calvin Goines and Iona Frost Lannoy. 

Ron drove trucks his entire life and hauled for Chattanooga Glass, Continental Can and Brown Trucking. Most recently, he drove for MOTA and Kat in the Mount Vernon area. Ron was a former member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge and Fraternal Order of the Eagles.

He is survived by his children, Julie (Gary) O’Brien, Dusty (Kelly) Goines, Tim Goines, Terri (Harry) Ervin, Sue (Robert) Starmer and Candy Goines; fifteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Goines; and a son, Joseph Kierce.

Friends may call on Thursday, March 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, March 5, beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
