COLUMBUS – Robert L. Kosman Jr., 84, of Columbus and formerly of the Howard/Danville area, passed away on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, at the Carriage Court of Hilliard. He was born on Sept. 30, 1936, in Cleveland, to the late Robert L. and Elinor (Dome) Kosman Sr.

Robert retired as a truck driver for L.B. Manufacturing after many years of service. He was a member of Saint Luke Catholic Church in Danville and the Knights of Columbus Council 910. Robert was also a veteran, serving in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah (Brian) Fath of Columbus and Jo Ann (Matt) Messer of Mount Vernon; six grandchildren, Chelsea (Ryan) Robinson, Torie (Julius) Bell, Matt (Rebecca) Lumbatis, Amber Moxley, Bert Platt and Tiffany (James) O’Dowd; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Kosman; his daughter, Gail Lumbatis; and his sister, Gloria Hughes.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at Saint Luke Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Daniel Olvera as the Celebrant. Masks will be required, and social distancing will be observed. The Mass will be live on the funeral home’s Facebook page. Burial will follow in Saint Luke Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
