MOUNT VERNON – M. Ruth Bowers, age 89, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Jan. 4, 2021, at her home surrounded by family. She was born on Sept. 27, 1931, in Mount Vernon, to Carl George and Elizabeth Roberta (Foraker) Botkin.
Ruth was employed at MVDC for 33 years, retiring in 1996.
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Charlotte (Joe) Forster of Howard and Roberta (Jeff) Posey of Fredericktown; six grandchildren, Scott (Adriane) Forster, Jamie Forster, Paige (Matt) Baughman, TJ (Leeanne) Baughman, Sara (Jacob) Green and Heather (Ty) Tschantz; 14 great-grandchildren; and one brother, William (Chanthy) Botkin of Arizona.
Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Charles Bowers in 1994; an infant son, Robert Thomas Bowers; and an infant sister, Harriett Lucille Botkin.
The family will observe a private burial in Mound View Cemetery.
