Mount Vernon City Council member Tanner Salyers is bringing “Never Again?” to The Woodward Opera House for a public screening. “Never Again?” is a feature-length documentary about the horrors of anti-Semitism and the power of survival and redemption. Viewers will go on a journey with a Holocaust survivor into the depths of darkness and surface in the light. Due to COVID-19, masks are required in the building at all times except when eating or drinking. Tickets are $15; seating is limited. A menu of items from Amato’s Pizza will be available throughout the evening; cost not included in admission fee. The Knox County Park District will hold a drive-by donation drop-off at Wolf Run Regional Park. This event benefits the Knox Animal Shelter and dogs up for adoption. Donors are asked to bring a box of Milk-Bone Dog Treats or Pedigree Dentastix as a donation to the Dogs of Knox and its partnership with the Knox County Animal Shelter.

Join the Knox County Park District for Pumpkins in the Park at Wolf Run Regional Park. This event will feature carved pumpkins illuminating the Storybook Trail on a fall night hike through the park. The public is invited to attend as well as participate by creating a carved pumpkin relating to a storybook character or book title for the display. To submit an entry, visit the Knox County Park District website at www.knoxcountyparks.org and click on the Events tab. The deadline for entries is Thursday, Oct. 29. Drop-off for the pumpkins will be Saturday, Oct. 31, from 10 a.m. to noon. On Nov. 1, the public is invited to vote on their favorite pumpkin as the Knox County Park District showcases all pumpkin entries on their Facebook page. Winners will be announced on Nov. 2. Facial coverings and social distancing on the trails will be required during the event.
