Knox County residents’ average weekly pay in the first quarter of the year was $833, well below the U.S. average of $1,222 and the 40th highest wage level among Ohio’s 88 counties, according to an analysis by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The number of employed residents in the county stood at 20,065, the BLS study found. Only three Ohio countries – Hamilton, Delaware and Franklin – have average weekly wages that exceed the national average, according to the BLS.

Year-over-year wage growth in the 14 largest counties exceeded 3 percent in six of the counties, according to the study, which indicated that year-over-year figures for the smaller counties were not available.
The total number of employed Ohio residents in the first quarter of 2020 stood at 5,349,638, the BLS reported, and their weekly average wages amounted to $1,063.
