WORTHINGTON — Marie Ann Govaere Flood, passed away Dec. 14, 2019 at the age of 87.
She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Flood. Marie was the loving mother of Michael (Janine) Flood of Granville, Martha (William) Melick of Gambier, Ann (Douglas) Horton of Worthington, Stephen (Lisa) Flood of Westerville, and David (Bobbie) Keers-Flood of Metuchen, NJ. She was the beloved Grandma of Stephanie (Zack Grubb) and Jason Flood, Robert, Russell and Roger Melick, Jennifer (Mark) McDonald, and Joseph Horton, Nikolaus, Lincoln, Hayley, and Kenton Flood, and Carson, Rebecca (Ryan) Clapp, Garrett, and Hayden Keers-Flood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Sylvia Govaere; and her brother, Benjamin Govaere. Marie was born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. She was a Graduate of Eastern Michigan University. She retired from Stark County Job and family services. She was a member of Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries and was a contributor for over 20 years of her originally designed and handmade doll clothes and aprons to Worthington Historical Society.
Memorial Donations may be made to the Salem High School Alumni Association Ohio or to the Friends Foundation of Worthington Libraries.
A private family service will be held. Marie was loved and will be deeply missed by her family. The family would like to thank the staff at Ohio Eastern Star for the loving care of their mother.
