Katy Hicks, an employee of Jake’s, posted a screenshot of the email Tim DeRodes, owner of the restaurant, sent out to its employees on Facebook.
The email was sent out near midnight on Wednesday through their scheduling app. The email explained that DeRodes had “made some bad financial decisions due in part to heavy repair and maintenance and lost sales.” It also reads the DeRodes came to “realize that the financial distress that the company is in at this time has made it difficult to successfully run the day to day operations.”

DeRodes ends the email by saying it wasn’t a decision he made lightly and that he “regrets how this will affect you and your family.”
Attempts by the News to reach DeRodes were unsuccessful.
