FREDERICKTOWN — The 30th annual Mid-Ohio Martial Arts Open, sponsored by Mid-Ohio Karate 4 Kids and The Soaring Eagles Competition Team, will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Waterford United Methodist Church, 20595 Waterford Road, Fredericktown. Registration opens at 9 a.m.

This is a sanctioned United Professional Martial Arts Circuit tournament. Seven events will be featured, Kata, Sparring, Weapon, Padded Weapon, Self-Defense, Grappling and Sock Grappling. Awards will be given for first through third place, and points awarded to first through fourth place.

Special demonstrations will be made by Grand Master Fairbanks (Kata), Soke Calvin Campbell (Weapon Kama), Grand Master Charles Wright (Self-Defense) and Grand Master A.J. Perry (Breaking).

All black belts registered at the door will be expected to judge. There is an admission fee, free for children 5 & under.
