Sanctuary offers events in March

DANVILLE — The Sanctuary, 304 S. Market St., Danville, has released the following calendar of events for March:

Every day — Family Life Counseling. Contact their office at 1-419-774-9969 or 1-567-560-3588 to schedule. Providing mental and emotional care for children, adults and families. Second floor with handicap access via inside elevator. General entry by covered entry stairs.

Every Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Drs. Elder and Wilson’s nurse practitioner, Deb Samples, providing family health care for area residents. Appointments are encouraged but walk-ins accepted. Insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and self pay accepted. Call the Fredericktown office at 740-694-1261 to schedule. Mention the Danville clinic when scheduling. Thursdays, March 7 and 21 — Massage Therapy with Kate Meyers of “Top Notch Hands Massage Therapy.” Call Kate at 740-504-0044 to schedule or more information. Free consultations regarding service treatment times and costs.

Friday, March 8, 5-7 p.m. — Fund Raising Fish Fry at St. Luke Community Center. Knights of Columbus are sponsoring this fish fry with a portion of proceeds to benefit Sanctuary Community Action. All you can eat fish.

Tuesday, March 12 — Prenatal clinic for Amish Ladies. Contact Dr. Nolan Byler (330-359-5489) or Dr. Brent Lehman (330-359-5147) to schedule.

Thursday, March 14, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. — WIC Clinic. WIC is a nutrition education program providing healthy supplemental foods for expectant and/or nursing mothers as well as families with infants and children up to age 5 who live in Knox County and meet the liberal income guidelines. Contact the Health Dept (392-2200) to schedule for the WIC clinic at The Sanctuary. Mention the Danville site when scheduling.

Thursday, March 14, 3-5 p.m. — Infant and Childhood Immunizations. Appointment is requested — call 599-7224. Bring your immunization record. It is important to maintain your child’s schedule of immunizations. Insurance is accepted. There is a fee for each visit for immunizations without insurance. Any questions regarding vaccinations, contact Knox County Health Dept-392-2200. No child will be denied immunization.

Wednesday, March 27, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. — AARP Tax Preparation Program at St. Luke Community Center. This is a free service of AARP. Available to all tax filers, especially those 60 years and older, low and moderate income taxpayers. Taxpayers with complex returns may be beyond the scope of the program: For example, depreciation of any type of property, business with employees and Schedule F farm income are examples of “out of scope.” To schedule an appointment or more information, contact The Sanctuary at 740-599-7224.
