MOUNT VERNON — Donald W. Parsons, 79, of Mount Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, at the Knox Community Hospital.

He was born on Aug. 22, 1937, in Aliquippa, Pa. to the late Kenneth and Stephanie (Wesoley) Parsons. Donald was a truck driver for many years and drove for numerous companies in the area. He was a member of the Moose Lodge here in Mount Vernon and also Mansfield. Donald was a veteran serving in the United States Marine Corps.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 33 years, June (Clark) Parsons; two sons, Donald Parsons Jr., Dean (Debbie) Parsons; stepsons Robert (Cindy) Smith, William (Valerie) Smith, Barry Smith; his stepdaughters, Debra (Rodney) Chapman, Brenda (Tom) Griffith, Tammy (John) Harden, Shelley (Dan) Jacobs; five grandchildren; and 23 stepgrandchildren.
