MONROE TOWNSHIP — An agreement was reached by Monroe Township trustees Tuesday night to pursue construction of a living and sleeping quarters for paid firefighters.

“To house firefighters here during night-time hours and on weekends,” said trustee Neil Bower on the purpose of building the new facility at the fire station. “We don’t have, at the present time, any place for them. It’s just not a nice, livable facility for somebody.”
