BUTLER — Jeffrey Hatley, 23, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 29, 2016.

He was born on August 7, 1992.

Jeffrey graduated from East Knox High School where he participated in wrestling and football. He loved basketball, fishing, playing cornhole and playing with his dog, Braxton. He had a great sense of humor and was known as a kind, caring young man. Jeffrey worked for many years at Grandpa’s Tackle on Knox Lake where he was known as the minnow man.

Jeffrey is survived by his parents, David and Connie Hatley of Butler; siblings, Tara Hatley of Newark, Stephanie (Gabe) Zader of Texas, David Hatley II of Columbus, Krystal Hatley of Howard and Jesse Fiste of Canton; grandfather, Robert Van Nostran of Medina; aunt, Kelli Sampson of Medina; girlfriend, Carli Circosta of Mansfield; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers Carolyn Kemp and Doris Sampson.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 25, at 2 p.m. at Journey Church, 11978 Schenck Creek Road, Howard.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Knox County Suicide Prevention Coalition, care of Mental Health of America Knox County, 15 E. Vine St. Front, Mount Vernon, OH 43050. Please note that your donation is in memory of Jeffrey Hatley.
