Northridge Elementary's fifth grade class got the opportunity to visit the newly-launched Junior Achievement (JA) Biztown in Newark.
Students participated in a day-long simulation where they played roles, such as owning a business, serving as town council members, and playing other adult roles in the community. The students learned about their roles through a classroom curriculum in preparation for the visit.
The fifth graders spent the day fulfilling the responsibilities of their jobs, from delivering speeches to managing employees, from advertising products to participating in a market - buying and selling merchandise.
At the end of the day, students had to clean up their business and return the space to the way it was when they arrived.
The hands-on experience taught students many life-long lessons, was highly-engaging, and overall a blast!
Thank you to JA Biztown Newark for the wonderful experience!
