Canterbury: Zero waste a trend worth making

The director of Knox County Recycling and Litter Prevention said he can re-use the success of Saturday’s “zero-waste” Earth Day effort at the Brown Family Environmental Center (BFEC) to plan more zero waste events in Knox County, a potential trend-in-the-making he hopes will catch on with public and private entities alike.

Woman hospitalized after head-on crash

A woman was transported via medical helicopter from the scene of a head-on collision this morning on U.S. 36. The crash, which occurred at approximately 9:09 a.m. in the area of Thayer Road, involved a hatchback car and a semi truck. The truck caught fire but its driver escaped without serious injury.
