Photo courtesy of Travis Church The Mid-Ohio Bullets 11U baseball team went 6-0 this past weekend to win the Coaches Against MM Gold Bracket tournament. The team had wins over Triple Crown Royals, Hilliard Colts, Columbus Cobras, Cangelosi Black Sox, Marysville Mitts and Canes Midwest. In addition, the team also won its 100th game together dating back to 8U. The team is comprised of boys from the Big Walnut, Delaware Christian, Highland, Northmor, Olentangy and River Valley school districts. Team members are, front row, from left, Cameron Patterson, Brady Taylor, Eli Snyder, Brody Hatfield, Brady Carr and Caden Beck; second row, Jayden Collins, Trevor Brubaker, Luke Chilicki, Zach Church and Brady Pavlak; and third row, coaches Jon Hatfield, Travis Church and Will Taylor.

Jackets third in OCC

The Ohio Cardinal Conference Tennis Tournament, held at Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s Ramser Courts on Saturday, turned into a battle for the top spot between the Lexington Minutemen, who defeated the Ashland Arrows in the championship matches in all singles and doubles brackets.

Fred Main/News Former Mount Vernon High School and Mount Vernon Girls Softball League standout Madi Drabick throws out the ceremonial first pitch to open the MVGSL season Saturday at Memorial Park. Drabick is currently playing softball at Ohio Wesleyan University and still finds time to volunteer with MVGSL. Teams and players from six different age divisions, as well as all-star teams, were recognized during the ceremony.
