VanFossen earns podium finish

Mount Vernon senior Max VanFossen picked up a win on the second day of the state tournament Friday in Columbus to guarantee himself a spot on the podium, while Danville’s Dylan Wilson suffered a pair of losses to end his season.

VanFossen, Wilson advance to quarterfinals

Mount Vernon’s Max VanFossen and Danville’s Dylan Wilson both advanced to the quarterfinals of their respective brackets at the state wrestling tournament at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus Thursday, while Jacket Triston Bowens was unable to advance past the first day.
