Pacemaker’s closing its gates

The future of Pacemaker’s Dragway Park, a fixture on the west side of Mount Vernon for over 60 years, is uncertain after track owner Rod Zolman announced Thursday that financial losses have forced him to cease operations when the current season ends.

Mount Vernon wrestlers find success at Jr. Olympics

Max VanFossen (a graduated senior), Jacob DeHart (a graduated senior), Colton Spurgeon (a current sophomore), and Gabe Harmon (a current junior) of the Mount Vernon wrestling team all qualified for the AAU Junior Olympics that took place from July 29 to Aug. 2 in Greensboro, North Carolina.
