Martin receives three years for drug charges

A Mount Vernon man was sentenced to nearly three years in prison in the Knox County Court of Common Pleas on Thursday after he had been found guilty of four drug charges that he had collected in quick succession in 2018.

Drowning victim’s body recovered

The body of a Mount Vernon man who went missing after a tubing accident in the Kokosing River was found Friday morning nearly a mile from where he was last seen.

Artist gives evening mural tour

With summer upon us in Knox County, that means the start of the First Friday season in Mount Vernon. … One of this month’s featured events was a tour of the painted murals that adorn some of the buildings in the downtown area. Several buildings, including ones on Ohio Avenue, Gay Street and Mulberry Street, were designed and painted mostly by the same person, artist John Donnelly.
