For the first time in program history, a Scot will take the lanes at the state bowling meet, and it will not be just one, with both the boys and girls teams qualifying to advance.

Blue Devils steamroll over Tigers

The Danville girls basketball team used stifling defense Wednesday that turned into quick offense, as the Blue Devils poured in 44 points in the first half and never looked back, winning the first round of the sectional tournament over Granville Christian, 62-23.

Bulldogs ousted by Roughriders, 39-38

The East Knox girls basketball team held a 38-37 lead with 18.2 ticks left on the clock, but the visiting West Jefferson Roughriders had the last bucket to secure a 39-38 win Tuesday over the Bulldogs, ending East Knox’s season.

Freddies close door late on Bulldogs

With the clock getting near 30 seconds left, Fredericktown senior Nick Cunningham splashed home a three to give his team a 34-31 lead over East Knox and he rattled off four more points to close out the game and give the Freddies a 38-33 win over the Bulldogs.

Danville pushes Cardington to limit

The Danville Blue Devils trailed the Cardington Pirates by 20 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Blue Devils plowed ahead to cut the lead to five, but the visitors did just enough Thursday to hold on to a 57-51 win.

Scots cling to win on Freddies’ Senior Night

The Highland girls basketball team had a 10-point advantage early in the fourth quarter and after Fredericktown cut the lead to two, the Scots did just enough to pick up the 49-44 win Wednesday on the Freddies’ Senior Night.

The Mount Vernon Yellow Jackets swimmers took the pool Saturday at the sectional meet at the Kenyon Athletic Center and laid down several personal- and career-best times, with the Jackets combining for nine district-qualifying times.

Scots down ‘Dogs, clinch KMAC crown

The Highland Scots ran away from the East Knox Bulldogs in the second half to cruise to a 56-29 win in Howard and the win gave the Scots the Knox-Morrow Athletic Conference title outright.
