MOUNT VERNON — Kimia J. Pillow, 52, of Mount Vernon, passed away late Friday night, Jan. 10, 2020, at her home surrounded by family.
She was born Sept. 10, 1967, in Decatur, Indiana, and moved to Mount Vernon in 1983. She graduated from Mount Vernon High School.
Kimia was a member of the Millwood Church of Christ and baptized earlier this year at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. She had been employed with Parrish-O’Neill & Associates since 2001 as an Aviation Insurance Agent. She loved her profession and co-workers and enjoyed the interaction she had with clients all over the Americas.
Kimi, as she liked to be called, was a kind, fiercely loyal person throughout her life. She loved her husband, children, and grandchildren with all her being. Kimia enjoyed various types of music, dancing, gardening, and traveling with her family. Kimi will be remembered for her ability to go above and beyond for her loved ones, friends and co-workers, always making sure people felt heard and important. She was a free spirit with an easy smile and made you always feel at ease to be around.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Doug Pillow; her daughter, Jacqueline Jean (Colin) Pack; son, Tyriss Davis; three grandsons, Corbin, Joey and Austin; parents, Rusty and Jackie Shinabery; three sisters, Kari (Joe) Thomas, Keilya Lutes and Kora Lutes; a brother, Dustin (Christy) Shinabery; and 17 nieces and nephews and 21 great-nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Kimia’s life will be held Monday, Jan. 20, starting at 2 p.m. at Millwood Church of Christ, 10900 Millersburg Road, Howard, with Evangelist Dave Jones officiating.
