MANSFIELD — Shirley Ann (Bachmann) Batson, 94, of Mansfield, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2020.
Shirley was born April 5, 1925, in Ashland to Albert and Carrie L. (Davis) Bachmann. She was married to Eugene Batson May 10, 1947, and he preceded her in death in 2005. Shirley belonged to the Westinghouse and Tappan Ladies (uniwives) and the Ashland Senior Center. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and loved to travel, shop and read. Shirley was known for her awesome meatloaf and brownies.
She is survived by daughters, Jeanette (David) Mutchler of Loudonville and Eileen (Andy) Campbell of Mount Vernon; son-in-law, Larry (Pam) Caudill; grandchildren, Scott (Bev) Caudill, Michelle (Vern Christian) Merritt, Nicole (Shawn) Lester, Dana (Vic Gray) Wentworth, Belinda Griffin Olive, Chad Mutchler, Travis (Cassie) Griffin, Craig (Teri) Mutchler, Melissa (Johnny) Caudill, Jessica (Jesse) Keirns, Cassandra (Chris Peffer) Campbell, and Kaitlin (Josh) Heagren; 15 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janice (John) Rowsey of Ashland.
Along with her husband, Eugene, Shirley was preceded in death by daughters, Barbara Caudill and Donna (Michael) Wentworth; great-grandson, Lucas Heagren; and siblings, Norman Bachmann, Margie Early, Phillip Bachmann and Stanley Bachmann.
Calling hours will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, Ltd., 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will take place at Mansfield Memorial Park.
