FREDERICKTOWN — Naomi L. Kelly, 90, of Fredericktown, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side Sunday, Jan. 5, 2020, at home. She was born Feb. 11, 1929, in Toledo, the daughter of LeRoy and Ethel (Halfrich) Dye. Naomi was a 1946 graduate of the Mount Vernon Academy and then earned a degree from the Mount Vernon Business College. Naomi retired after serving as secretary of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church for over 18 years.

Naomi was instrumental in the building of the Fredericktown Seventh-day Adventist Church where she was an active member, organist and pianist. Naomi also served as secretary and treasurer of the Mount Vernon Academy Alumni Association. Her infectious laugh and story-telling will be missed by her family and many friends.

Naomi is survived by her daughter, Judy Richmond of Granger, IN; step son, Dan (Kathy) Kelly of Florida; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and her feline companions.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Karl Lamson; husband, Vern Kelly; and step children, James Kelly and Joanne Vincent.

A funeral service will be held Thursday beginning at 1 p.m. at Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown, 33 E. College St., Fredericktown, where friends may call from noon until the time of service. Pastor Ron Vozar will be officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery in Fredericktown.

Memorial contributions in Naomi’s name may be made to the Humane Society of Knox County.
