MOUNT VERNON — Wilma Hubbell, 90, of Fruitland Park, Florida and formerly of Mount Vernon passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2019, at Village Hospice House in The Villages, Florida.

She was born Dec. 28, 1928, in Caledonia, to the late Wellington and Hazel (Wooley) Baird. Wilma was employed and retired from JC Penny here in Mount Vernon where she worked in the catalog department. She was a member of the Mulberry Street United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Colonial City Women of the Moose Chapter #100. Wilma enjoyed fishing and traveling. But most of all, she loved the time she spent with her family.

She is survived by her sons, Tim (Carrie) Hubbell, Dan Hubbell; seventeen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and her companion, Hollis Wood.

In addition to her parents, Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin Hubbell; her son, Michael Hubbell; and her grandson, Nicholas Hubbell.

Friends may call Monday, Dec. 2, at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. A service will follow beginning at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Ernst officiating. Burial will take place in Bloomfield Cemetery near Centerburg.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mulberry St. United Methodist Church, 205 N. Mulberry St., Mount Vernon, OH 43050.
