UTICA — The accolades keep rolling in for Utica’s Emily Londot.

Licking County League volleyball Player of the Year, first-team All-Central District, first-team All-Ohio. Now, she can add All-American to the list.

Londot was named to the first team Under Armour/American Volleyball Coaches Association Girls High School All-American recently and was presented her commemorative jersey by Utica Athletic Director Brian Radabaugh during a ceremony Friday at Utica High School.

“This is really cool. Who knew someone from a small town would be noticed all around the U.S.,” Londot said. “Getting this jersey today was cool, especially being presented it in front of everyone at school. It’s nice knowing everyone in the community is behind me.”

“This is an awesome culmination of her high school career,” said her mom and high school coach Laurie Londot. “It’s the highest honor you can get, being named All-American.”

Emily Londot was the only Ohio volleyball player to receive first-team accolades, but another local volleyball standout was also honored. Highland’s Raina Terry was named honorable mention. Along with being selected first team, Londot has also been invited to play in the Under Armour All-America Volleyball match on Dec. 31 at 7 p.m. at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World.

While she is the only Ohio player invited, she will be playing with six other members of her USA volleyball team which recently won a gold medal in the 18U World Championships in Egypt. She also gets an opportunity to play with future teammate Rylee Rader of Assumption High School in Louisville, Ky. Both Londot and Rader have signed to play at Ohio State University next fall.

“There’s quite a few of my teammates from the USA team playing here. It’s really cool to get another opportunity to play with them,” Londot said. “To experience a game with people my own age and just as good as me and as knowledgeable as me or more, it’ll be cool learning different things from them.”

Londot will spend several days in Orlando, practicing with her new teammates and attending several functions. The showcase will be held in association with the Under Armour All-America Football game, which will be held that same weekend.
