MOUNT VERNON — Several fall athletes at Mount Vernon were honored by the Ohio Cardinal Conference recently.

The OCC named its all-league recipients in volleyball, as well as boys and girls soccer.

Mount Vernon’s volleyball team had four players honored, led by Maddy Burdette. The junior was named first-team All-OCC after helping her Jackets finish fourth in the conference.

Sophomore Emma Summerfield was named second team, while junior Lepley and senior Kylie Ransom were both named honorable mention.

Senior goalkeeper Emily DePolo helped lead the Jackets to a fifth-place showing in the league. For that, she was named first-team All-OCC. Sophomore Olivia Reddy was tabbed second team, while sophomore McKenna Brokaw and junior Lexi Rapp both received honorable mention accolades.

In boys’ soccer, senior Wyatt Kirby was selected as a first-team performer for the Jackets, who finished in fifth place in the OCC.

Three Jackets received second-team accolades, including seniors Noah Eddy and Carter Lasater. Junior Erich Rhodeback was also named second team. Junior Bryce Wiles and sophomore Jacob Deever were both named honorable mention.
